JULY 2007 - A contract for the supply of a continuous coating line has been signed between 'Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel works' (Russian Federation) and FATA Hunter.
The signature of the contract was held on Friday July 13th, 2007 during the celebration of the 'Day of Metallurgists', annual event in the town of Magnitogorsk, in the presence of Mr. Viktor Borisovich Khristenko, Russia's Minister for Industry and Energy and other important personalities of the national and regional political scenario.
The line will be able to produce 200,000 tons per year of steel coated coils, will be designed according to the state-of the-art technologies, will have a nominal speed of 160 m/min and will produce high quality colour coated sheet for the construction and appliance sectors.
This contract is rejuvenating the long and important experience of FATA S.p.A. in Russia, after the important projects of the nineties both in the steel and in the aluminium sectors.
This contract will pave the way to a fruitful and long term cooperation between FATA Hunter and 'Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works' for future expansion projects in Russia and abroad.
MORE > FEBRUARY 2007 - Aluworks Limited (Ghana) signed an agreement with FATA Hunter for the supply of a new state-of-the-art Cold Rolling Mill as an addition to the existing one. The Cold Rolling Mill is the heart of the manufacturing plant, the stage at which the cast strip is reduced to customised gauges (thickness) for further processing in the Finishing Lines to customers' sizes for various end uses such a corrugated roofing sheets, quality cookware and sheets for fabrication.
FATA Hunter and Aluworks have had a long business relationship spanning a quarter of a century. The Aluworks plant was built in the early 1980s with machinery supplied by FATA Hunter. Two major expansions which involved the addition of two Strip Casters and a Tension Levelling Line in 1989 and 1999 were designed, manufactured and installed by FATA Hunter.
The signing of this contract marks an important event in the history of Aluworks paving the way for further expansion plans in the future.
FEBRUARY 2007 - At the end of 2006, less than 4 months since signing the contract for the supply of one Tension Leveller and one Edge Trimmer, Alprom (Romania) signed another contract with FATA Hunter for the upgrade of its FATA Hunter Cold Rolling Mill operating in its Slatina aluminium casting and rolling plant.
The project is aimed at improving the quality and the productivity of the existing machine. The most recent developments of FATA Hunter's technology, such as the hSystem® package, are part of this upgrade project. This system includes all the function necessary to run the rolling mill under Automatic Gauge Control (AGC) and Automatic Flatness Control (AFC) These functions include automatic control of the roll gap as well as mill speed and coiler tension.
The cooperation between the two Companies began in the 70's when FATA Hunter supplied Alprom (IPA at that time) with its complete turnkey plant for the production of aluminium sheet and foil.
